Hello, is it me you’re looking for? I can see it in your eyes, I can see it in your smile. Ok, I’ll stop! Aloha, Royalties! Welcome to my blog! Today is Valentine’s Day, and I know many of you don’t know what to get your friend, a family member, your crush or someone special. I’ve got you covered! Here are some tips to get the best last minute gift for that someone.
Think about who you are going to give the present: This is important because you have no time to prepare a “big surprise”, to go online shopping or to find an “original” gift. Think about the most simple way to make that person happy. Ask yourself what do they like or what do they need.
When in doubt, buy them sweets: Everyone I know likes sweets, and this is coming from a girl who barely eats any. I don’t have a sweet tooth, but I enjoy dark chocolate and Crème Brûlée, for example. So, you probably know what that person likes, if not, you can ask someone close to them, or you can take a wild guess.
Flowers: Flowers are the most classic way to make someone happy on Valentine’s Day. I even know guys who like to be given a single rose. Now, if you don’t know the person’s favorite flower, buy them pink or red roses, trust me, you’ll win.
A custom made basket: This is easier than you imagine. Make a quick list of things that person likes or might like. For example, add movies, snacks, beauty products, video games, drinks, etcetera. It will look like you spent a whole month planning it, but it will only take you an hour to buy everything and get it done. If you’re not crafty, you can bring your basket into a Souvenir Store, and they will wrap it for you for a fee.
You don’t need to spend a lot of money: Sometimes we buy expensive things when we are in hurry because we don’t have the time to check the whole store for a gift. My advice is that you buy things that your special someone asked for, or you know they want. For example, ask their parents, close friends or check their social medias; I promise you that you’ll know what to get them, or at least you’ll have a better vision.
Gift cards: Gift cards always save the day. iTunes, Amazon, Visa, GameStop, Forever21, you name it. You can get creative and put your gift card on a heart-shape box, inside a themed card, you can tape the gift card on a chocolate bar, etc. The important thing is that your gift doesn’t look plain and very “last minute”.
Handmade themed cards: All you need is some colored papers, markers, glitter, stickers, glue and scissors. Get creative, bring your inner child out! Handmade cards can be very personal and original, therefore, this is great for a close friend or lover.
Now go; run! Go make your special person happy! Remember that we should celebrate love and friendship everyday, and that your love shouldn’t be measured by material things.
